7 Halloween Safety Tips to remember!

To parents and kids in Alpharetta, we hope you guys had fun tonight on Halloween! We spent the day suggesting to parents different safety tips to make sure all the little ghouls and goblins stayed safe out there!

In case we didn’t catch you, here is how you can ensure your kids safety next year:

  • 1. Carry a flashlight and wear reflective clothing.
  • 2. Walk, don’t run… Stay on sidewalks and cross the street only at the crosswalk. If there is no sidewalk, walk on the left side of the road facing traffic.
  • 3. Stay in familiar neighborhoods and areas. Don’t cut across yards or driveways. NO SHORTCUTS!
  • 4. Make sure costumes fit and don’t drag on the ground. Shoes should fit (even if they don’t go with your costume). Avoid wearing masks while walking from house to house. Use only rubber knives, swords or other props.
  • 5. Wear clothing with reflective markings or tape.
  • 6. STAY IN WELL-LIT AREAS, and only go to houses with lights on.
  • 7. Although tampering is rare, tell children to let you check their candy before they eat it. Be sure to feed them dinner and goodies before you go out so they aren’t tempted!

Simple enough…right? Feel free to jot these ideas down and go over them with your child so they aren’t surprised when you begin to implement “the rules”. Have a good time, and happy trick-or-treating!
